Urbanika is a US/Canada Limited Partnership designed for real estate investors who see Detroit as a smart place to acquire property. Managing partner, Vallery Hyduk from Toronto, purchased her first Detroit property in 2012 and two years later relocated to The D to go 'all in'.

Urbanika has ten years of due diligence and experience in the Detroit market, and a significant portfolio of holdings as a proof of concept. Urbanika has its finger on the pulse of Detroit and boots on the ground.

Urbanika offers partnerships in real estate deals we find or a la carte services like prospecting, real estate agent services, contracting, project management and property management.

Vallery is passionate about Detroit real estate so much so that she relocated her family from Toronto to Detroit to partake in the city's revitalization. Since arriving in Detroit, she has obtained her Michigan Real Estate Salesperson License and is working with Lambrecht Realty - a multigenerational real estate brokerage, and she has her Michigan Residentail Builder's licence. Vallery's partner, Sean has his Masters of Architecture.

Vallery attended the University of Michigan as a Division 1 scholarship athlete and graduated with a double major in French and Political Science. She also earned a Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Toronto. Vallery has investment properties properties in Toronto, Windsor and Detroit.

OUR STORY

It all started with a Jack White concert in Detroit. Originally from Toronto, Vallery & her husband traveled to Detroit in 2011 to see the legendary Jack White perform in the musician's hometown. It was then that the Detroit love affair began. Pre-Detroit's bankruptcy, pre-Mayor Mike Duggan, pre-Billionaire Dan Gilbert. In 2012, they, invested in an 8000 sq ft Indian Village mansion to use as a place to come to enjoyed Detroit's music, culture, recreation and above all its people. By 2015, the lure of Detroit became so great it was time to leave Toronto and GO ALL IN in THE D!

DETROIT'S STORY

One only need listen to Mayor's State of the City addresses to learn of all the amazing details of Detroit's revitalization. It's a complex city with a complex set of circumstances but one thing is for certain -Detroit is on the move and accelorating fast. Grass roots - artists and entrepreneurs are making it happen. Government is making it happen. Longtime Detroiters are making it happen. Private investment is making it happen. Dan Gilbert is making it happen. It's the perfect coming together at all levels. The wave continues to gather strength every passing day, week, month. You can see change everywhere you look. Where there was once a blighted building; now is a rehab in progress. Neighborhoods in distress are peppered with progress. Where there was vacancy, there are now new businesses open. Where there were few people walking around, now there are thousands. Recent years have brought incredible, sustainable, responsible change. The future is bright!
